The ViaCard is a pre-paid card, with no expiry date, which can be used whenever you wish for any category of vehicle and also recharged (only available in Portuguese) whenever you wish.

Time, as you can use the special lanes on the Toll Plazas on the 25 de Abril and Vasco da Gama bridges.
Money, because with your first crossing on the 25 de Abril bridge you receive a 10% discount and as discounts are progressive throughout the month, the more you cross the less you pay.
How can I get one?
It is easy. All you have to do is fill in the contract at the 25 de Abril/Vasco de Gama service points and you will be given your ViaCard right away.
You only have to charge your ViaCard with a minimum of €15 and pay a €3 deposit.
Where can I use my ViaCard?
On the 25 de Abril Bridge:
At all manual payment booths
At Booth 4, used exclusively by ViaCard holders in light vehicles (working days from 7a.m. to 10 a.m. )
At Booth 5, automatic payment booth for category 1 vehicles only
At Booth 11, exclusively for ViaCard holders in all categories of vehicles
On the Vasco da Gama Bridge
At all manual payment booths
At Booth 4, exclusively for ViaCard holders in all categories of vehicles (working days from 7 a.m. to 10 am.)
How can I recharge my ViaCard?
It's easy. All you have to do is go to one of the Points of Sale and recharge your card (minimum amount of 15 euros)
You can also recharge your card at Booth 4 on the 25 de Abril bridge on any working day from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
And how do I check how much credit I have left?
Over the Internet, by selecting the option "client management" (only available in Portuguese)

At the service points on the 25 de Abril and Vasco da Gama bridges:
- by asking the employee;
- at the ViaCard information stands located at the same place.
At Booth 4 on the 25 de Abril Bridge on working days from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
At the manual payment booths on the 25 de Abril and Vasco da Gama bridges, by requesting a crossing certificate from the toll booth operative.

Nota: an orange light will be illuminated if your credit is €3 or less.
And: Should your credit be equal to or below €3 you will receive an SMS message on your mobile phone informing you that you need to recharge your card.
